Job Purpose
- To meet deadlines, will be accountable for the overall accuracy and promptness of the direct, indirect, and other tax reporting requirements.
- Together with other Finance Towers, find possibilities for process refinement and reporting to shorten processing times.
Duties and responsibilities
- Take the helm of and grow the Tax Reporting Team
- Plan and oversee tax payment and reporting processes (e.g. confirming requirements, reviewing timelines, maintaining and updating trackers)
- Staff training and attendance and performance monitoring
- Manage relationships with local teams and third-party service providers, escalations, and expectations.
- Make that all administrative tasks, papers, and reports relating to direct, indirect, and other taxes are completed on schedule and accurately.
- Helping to create transfer price documentation (if required)
- Keep up with any changes to the law that may affect the allocated firm entities.
- Make that final returns, working files, and other relevant documents are kept on SharePoint, and ascertain whether any papers must be physically archived in accordance with local law.
- Signal problems that were observed during routine tasks and offer fixes.
- Create an internal control environment to guarantee that objectives are accomplished with high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Increase efficiency by locating process upgrades
- Make that the process documentation is accurate and current.
- Where required or requested:
- Review the conditions (such as a residence certificate) to qualify for tax relief or exemption under a tax treaty.
- Review data input used to calculate taxes and implement control measures.
- Examine the schedules and analyses needed for the assigned firm entities’ tax inspections.
- Examine the company tax return.
- Give information for tax accounting and reconciliation needs.
- Perform other tasks assigned by immediate supervisor
Requirements
- CPA
- At least 8 years of experience in tax compliance and/or tax reporting
- At least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role
- Dynamic, practical, aggressive, high ownership, and tenacious
- A capable team leader who can mentor and develop others.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels
- Able to organize work, handle problems, and deliver outcomes quickly
- Extremely analytical and meticulous
- Able to change with the times, showing adaptability and ownership of the change
- The following are preferred but not required:
- Knowledge of international tax
- Experience in Big 4
- Experience in managing professional teams in a multinational, shared services environment
- Experience in dealing with and managing 3rd party service providers
- Proficient in MS applications
