The Marine Coordinator is a member of the Marine Team within Fleet Mgt and a learning position. This is one of the links between the FM team and the fleet in regard to SSCS (Ship Shore Compatibility) and for issues concerning navigation, security, lifesaving, firefighting, vetting, Port State Control, audits, inspections and cargo handling quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Active promotion of- and commitment to safety awareness, company policy and company values
Perform SSCS (Ship Shore Compatibility Studies) for LNGC and FSRU
- Assist with quality assurance of mooring/ SSCS and as ordered
- Responsible for delivery of safety, security and navigation updates in the fleet
- Review and quality assure Risk Assessments, reports and other marine related documentation
First-hand knowledge of applicable national and international rules/ regulations and industry requirements
- Assist Operation Managers when instructed
- Quality assure/ review ship documentation for VIQ 2.0 inspections
Monitor new and impending rules/ requirements for Cargo, Navigation, Safety, security, mooring, PSC and SIRE that will affect the fleet and ensure this is flagged to MSIs
- Actively participate in the reporting and closure of all relevant reports as well as the development and continuous improvement of HIIS
- Monitoring and identifying reoccurring corrective maintenance on navigational equipment based on analysis of monthly report sent from Maintenance & Performance Improvement department.
- Meet KPIs as defined
- Responsible for a systematic, efficient and timely experience feedback to Head of Department/ Marine Superintendents related to above areas
- Participate in Officer and Crew Conferences when requested
Perform in Port State Controls, inspections, audits pre-vetting and vetting assistance as required including reporting in the Safety Management System
Other common tasks as instructed by Head of Department
Requirements:
The Marine Coordinator shall maintain a good and close relationship with all relevant stakeholders encountered ashore and aboard. The person shall work closely with the Marine Superintendent – Mooring to perform SSCS for both terminals and FSRUs, but also other tasks in cooperation with Marine Superintendents, Operation Managers and technical department. By this interface the position ensure FM are informed of changes to rules, regulations and industry standards; Quality assurance of audit, inspection and vetting documentation.
- College Graduate
- 2-3 yrs as Deck Officer
- minimum 2nd Officer Rank and preferably in LNG or LPG
